“The TSC Media and Marketing Assistant will help our office promote and highlight programs and services aimed at transfer students and the student population groups we serve (Student Parents and Families, Umoja, FYRE, and System-Impacted students). The TSC Media and Marketing Assistant will utilize social media knowledge and creative skills in graphic design and photography to attract students to events and spread awareness of TSC programs and services. The TSC Media and Marketing Assistant is also responsible for updating and improving TSC Social Media and TSC Website.”
As a TSC Media and Marketing Assistant, you will:
Create creative content for social media and social networking sites (including Facebook, Instagram, or Discord).
Create flyers and promotional material.
Research website accessibility and ensure that TSC digital content is accessible.
Photograph TSC events. Edit photos and/or videos to post on social media.
Create engaging music, video, and photo contests using social media platforms.
Engage with a community of followers online regularly. Strategize ways to increase social media exposure and followers, including engaging and collaborating with other official UCI Instagram accounts.
Possess knowledge of campus and/or community resources to promote transfer students.
Develop, plan, schedule, and post weekly content for the TSC social media account to promote TSC services, events, and resources.
Possess knowledge of digital tools such as Canva and MailChimp to create, update, and disseminate newsletters.
Fulfill administrative needs such as updating program listservs, and collecting and organizing program data, especially social media analytics.
When needed, support TSC outreach efforts, such as tabling, tours, and presentations to current and prospective students.
Evaluate TSC media and marketing efforts, and make recommendations for improvements and increasing engagement on our social platforms.
Participate in professional development activities and skill-building workshops to improve skills.
Help maintain the TSC office as a safe, welcoming, and productive environment for all students.
Provide tips and suggestions around topics such as (although not limited to) study skills, staying on track, developing and achieving goals, getting involved on campus, and utilizing campus resources on our media platforms.
Requirements:
Have a 2.7 cumulative GPA at the time their application is submitted, at the start of their employment, and throughout their employment with the TSC.
Be available to work 8 hours a week in person at the TSC during the 2024-25 academic year (September 16, 2024, to June 2025).
Participate in TSC Peer Educator Training (Monday, September 16, 2024 - Sept. 20th, 2024).
Attend regular check-in meetings with their supervisor.
Be a transfer student who has been at UCI for at least one academic year by the date of employment.
Completing the required Employment Eligibility Verification (I-9) requires you to provide documents that verify you are eligible to work in the USA.
