OUR FAMS PROGRAM!

The Psychology Student Association Fams program is designed to help you connect with fellow students, enhance your academic experience, and create lasting friendships. Below, you'll find all the information you need about what a fam is, why you should join, and how to get involved!

1

What is a Fam?

A "fam" is a small, supportive group of psychology students brought together based on shared interests, hobbies, and personalities. Each fam offers a unique environment where members can collaborate and engage in social activities that foster deeper connections and friendships within PSA. By participating in a fam, you’ll not only enhance your academic journey but also create a tight-knit community among other psychology students.

2

Why Should You Join a Fam?

Joining a fam can greatly enrich your college experience and allows you to meet like-minded peers who share a passion for psychology through group activities, discussions, and collaborations. Participating in a fam is a fun way to engage in social events and activities that will help you feel more connected to both PSA and the UC Irvine community.

How to Join!

Now that you’re ready to become part of a fam, the process is simple! Start by filling out this Interest Form, and answering a few questions about yourself to be placed into the perfect fam for you! Please note that this program is reserved for paid general members ONLY.

Stay Updated!

Once you’ve submitted the form, mark your calendar for the Fam Reveal event on Wednesday of Week 6, November 6th, from 5:00 to 6:00 PM. After this general meeting, we will announce which fam you’ve been placed in. To stay in the loop, keep an eye on your email and follow us on social media for updates about the Fam Reveal and other exciting PSA events!
