Rate My Professor PSA Edition

Updated: Oct 26, 2023

The list below is PSA Edition's Rate My Professor

Bailey, E. (PSYCH 9C)

She was super informative when I took her for in person and her slides were condensed to where I was able to listen to her speak and understand the material without the slides. She was super approachable ! In her class we needed i-clickers as her way of taking attendance. Super interesting class this was one of my favorite classes in the series because of her teaching style.

Bornstein A. (PSYCH 140M)

Professor Bornstein is great. His classes are interesting, interactive, and he explains things very clearly. His midterms and final were very fair in terms of grading. He does not grade attendance and his lectures are available over Zoom and in-person. I highly recommend this class, or any class taught by Dr. Bornstein.

Borreli, J. (PSCI 153C)

Professor Borreli is super sweet and understanding! This class does cover a lot of content but she explains it very well. I am taking her online. She based her grading on online discussions, learning exercises, case study, 1 midterm, and 1 final. There is also extra credit opportunities. If psychopathology interests you I would recommend you take this class!

Bruce, B. (PSCI 11A)

This professor has very interactive zoom meetings and ensures all students feel engaged. He is very enthusiastic even with the difference of online learning in our presence this year. His lectures are thought out and organized clearly for his students to understand, and always posted on time!

Bustamante, A (ED 10)

I took ED 10 (for SE 10 credit) with Professor Bustamante and he is so sweet. He always asked students how we were doing, gave us short surveys throughout the quarter to assess his performance, and was always available outside of class. He explained topics clearly and was good with answering questions during lecture in as much detail as he could. There were easy group quizzes maybe once a week, and there were three exams that were a bit difficult, but they were open-note and pretty much just required applying what he taught during lecture.

Cauffman, E (PSCI 112D)

Dr. Cauffman is an amazing professor! I was a little intimidated to take her class at first due to her reviews claiming that she was a tough professor, but overall I am really happy to have taken her course. Her expertise on adolescent development really showed in her lessons and real life examples, helping me to always stay engaged in lectures. She does expect a lot from you, but this helps to improve your study and retention skills as a student. She really does challenge you, but in the end you are proud of the work you accomplished and sad to leave her class.

Chernyak, N. (PSCI 103H)

She is a queen I love her. The structure of her class is awesome. No homework, just exams. She is very passionate about whatever she is lecturing about and engages students in conversation. She uses iclicker to count attendance. Overall a great professor however you must attend class and keep up with all lectures in order to do well, you cannot finesse her class.

Dalton, T. (SOCECOL 10)

She is passionate about research design and criminology, however her grading system works against students. Your whole grade is dependent on the final exam (the syllabus notes that it is 100% of your grade) unless you submit optional weekly assignments. Even with the optional assignments, the final exam may be worth 60% of your grade, with the other 40% depending on one essay assignment. This essay was a literature review, and for those who did poorly, it was nearly impossible for them to receive an A in the course unless they scored perfectly on the final exam. I would not recommend taking SOCECOL 10 with this professor as I had a hard time maintaining an A- with her harsh grading system.

Ditto, P.

(PSCI 104S)

I took his course on the Social Animal and learned so many fascinating facts about social psychology and how the individual and social world interact. Dr. Ditto is a very engaging and energetic professor who gives very interesting lectures and obviously shows he is passionate about the topic. His bright personality makes the course super fun, allowing students to get the best learning experience possible :)

(PSCI 174S)

I took Dr. Ditto’s course on Error & Bias and found his class to be very engaging and detailed. Dr. Ditto’s lectures always involve examples from modern events and he connects them to research and concepts which helped me get a better understanding of the material. His weekly quizzes and judgement journals helped me a lot when preparing for the exams and gave me a better understanding of social psychology in the modern world. Dr. Ditto is a great person to talk to during lectures and he does his best to ensure his students succeed.

Ferguson, J. (ESS 1 & 3)

I am currently in my second class with professor Ferguson and she is absolutely wonderful. I definitely recommend taking her earth science classes as a GE. The class consists of lecture videos, weekly quizzes, weekly discussions, and 4 exams. She puts a lot of work into her lecture videos to try to make challenging topics easier to understand and it’s noticeable that she is very knowledgeable and passionate about what she teaches. She is approachable in office hours and the topics are interesting if you enjoy learning about our earth and oceans.

Gulesserian, K. (STATS 110)

His classes are very lecture heavy, so try not to skip class. If you do I recommend talking to a TA to catch up. He makes all of his content extremely accessible. For example, he has all of his lecture videos and slides on his canvas, which are super easy to find. This might let you get into the habit of skipping lecture to just watch the videos, but I recommend still going to the lectures because he goes more in depth into the content which is extremely helpful for his exams. His exams are all application and can be fairly easy if you took good notes and practiced. All of his exams are open note, open everything, except cheating obviously. Definitely recommend if you can handle tedious work. Overall, I wouldn't say his class is that difficult if you pay enough attention. He is really responsive so don't hesitate to email him for anything.

Grossman, E. (PSYCH 160A)

She's an excellent professor who is very well-versed in neuroscience, and that really shines as she presents during lectures. Psych 160A, Cognitive Neuroscience, was a challenging class, as it focused on the anatomy & functions of the brain, but Dr. Grossman does a great job breaking down each concept into a more simpler form. If you're interested in learning more about the brain and are looking to challenge yourself academically, I would highly recommend her as a professor!

Hagedorn J.

(PSYCH 7A)

His class is simple and straight forward. entire class in online from lectures to exams. For lectures, you just need to write down the parts highlighted in red (important information) and the exams are entirely lecture based. Super easy A

This was one of my favorite classes and professors that I've ever had. Everything was simple and straightforward. All you need to do is pay attention to the red bolded items in his lectures and you should be good for exams since he directly draws from the lectures. recommend having Hagedorn for any class if you can

(PSYCH 140M)

Professor Hagedorn is a great professor who really enjoys the subject he is teaching. His lectures are clear, organized and easy to follow. He talks about each topic in a concise step by step manner, which is helpful when learning about a topic that is new and unfamiliar. He does not rush over material and makes sure to explain everything allowing you to understand the necessary information needed for exams. Last but not least, his exams are fair and by the way make sure to study what he presents in his lectures.

(PSYCH 129, PSYCH 140M)

I took professor Hagedorn for two of my major psychology classes during virtual learning. He made the class manageable because he did not require us to buy the textbook nor did we need it for his class and exams. He would post lectures every Monday, Wednesday, and Friday that were no more than like 25 minutes and he made his lectures so we only took notes on the stuff that is in ‘red’. Therefore, for his exams we know to just focus on understanding what he said in the ‘red’ to prepare us for the exams. There are 3 exams and 1 final and he drops the lowest exam score. I enjoyed Psych 140M because it was about memory and understanding the case studies of researchers and how we store memory for past or current events. Psych 129 is his class of music which is interesting because we focus on behaviors and feelings that are associated with music.

(PSYCH 129)

I recommend the professor because he is a very good lecturer and his tests reflect everything he teaches in class. For this class specifically, we had 3 midterms and 1 final and our lowest midterm score got dropped. However, you do have to take detailed notes in his class to successfully pass his exams, but his class is structured for everyone to pass with an A

(PSYCH 140M, PSYCH 129)

I’ve had him for three quarters as well. I completed his human memory and psychology of music classes so far. I think his human memory class was much more difficult compared to his music class. From my experience, his classes consist of 3 midterms and 1 final exam. There are no quizzes or discussion boards. We never have live discussions or anything. He has pre-recorded lecture videos that are always released at 9:00 AM. I believe that he is very organized and he does a good job explaining lecture material in all his videos. Only downside in his class is that I never got to meet him personally or make a connection with him since everything was asynchronous.

Hoffman, D.

(PSCI 11A / PSYCH 9A)

Dr. Hoffman was a great professor who allowed me to take what I learned from his course into the real world. His theory on reality is truly mind blowing. He spends the entire quarter building up to his theory, and it is truly fascinating to see and uncover. If you are unsure if you want to take a course with him, check out his TedTalk "Do we see reality as it really is?" to see what his course is all about. To this day, I still think about the lectured he gave us, and question what reality really is. His course is set up so his lectures are not consistent with the book readings, but this really does allow you to get a fuller understanding of psychology.

(PSYCH 9C / PSCI 11C)

Professor Hoffman’s classes are quite interesting. His lectures are very thought-provoking and really lead students to see psychology and the world in a completely new light. I highly recommend taking a class from him, as you will gain newfound knowledge and perspectives.

Holton, A. (CHEM 1A and 1B)

She explains concepts very clearly in her video lectures and live lectures. Her grading policy is very flexible, as she drops a week's worth of assignments and replaces a midterm grade with the average of your optional weekly quizzes. She is fairly quick in replying to emails, and she is responsive to student needs. The Canvas page is also well organized and easy to navigate.

Jose, R. (PSCI 137H)

Her class was one of my personal favorite classes and she is such a nice person! The examples in her lectures she provided were very relatable since the class was about stress which can connect to us college students. Her exams are primarily from the lectures, but she does incorporate some of the reading from the book we read as well.

Kenchel, J. (SE 13)

I took this class online during the summer. Professor Kenchel did a great job of teaching stats, she is very organized and gives clear direct examples. The grade is based on weekly short quizzes where you have unlimited attempts, three homework assignments, and three exams. The exams are not cumulative and she drops the lowest exam score. She offers extra credit and if your nervous about taking stats I recommend you take it with her!

Krichmar, J. (PSYCH 112R)

Professor Krichmar is an amazing and a very nice professor! He knows his field and will help you during classwork time! His exams is based on what he teaches so it's no surprise. He teaches Cognitive Robotics and I highly recommend his class if you are interested in technology/robotics.

Kubrin, C. (C7)

While the class is a lot of work, Professor Kubrin was able to convey the information we needed to learn in a memorable way through documentaries and personal anecdotes. By teaching this way, it made the information stick better and it made us realize how relevant the information we were learning was to our every day lives. She also made the exams as fair as possible and gave us a good idea of what to expect on them.

Levine, L. (PSCI 11B/ PSYCH 9B)

Professor Levine is very passionate in psychology and her lectures are engaging. Although I took the class when it was asynchronous, I had no problem communicating with her and getting extra help when needed. The exams are fair and there are a few one page essays for homework. She is a very understanding professor and I would take another one of her classes if I could.

Lew, A (BIO 35)

I really loved this professor because she kept the topic of the class very interesting and interactive! I got to meet new friends and have open minded discussions about the important topics centered mind, memory, and behavior. Apart from the positive environment she created with her interactive questions and the learning assistants under her class, it was so interesting to learn! You learn a lot about yourself and how memory plays a significant role in the way we act or think. Her passion for this interest definitely made this class more fun & engaging! Overall, I recommended any class by Dr.Lew.

Lewis, J.

(PSYCH 120A, PSYCH 124V, PSYCH 122C, PSYCH 122I)

I have been in her classes for three quarters now and it’s not as hard as some other psychology classes. Discussions are on Wednesdays, however, it is optional. Good thing is she records discussions and lecture videos. Her canvas site can be a bit disorganized, but she allows for you to collaborate and work with the class for discussion boards, midterms, and even the final. She has very lengthy announcements and instructions for all of her assignments. When reaching out to her, she responds fairly quickly. Typically, her class consists of several discussion boards, a midterm, and the final exam. I would recommend taking her abnormal psychology, psychology of violence, clinical psychology, or industrial/organizational psychology classes. My favorite has to be the IO psychology class because it taught me a lot about figuring out what career fits me.

(PSYCH 120A)

Lewis is very personable and she has a lot of knowledge in psychology and her field. Her classes are interesting but they can be tedious because she requires group projects, but the grading is very lenient. Her tests use case study questions and they can be lengthy. She keeps everyone well updated about due dates, class, assignments, and midterms. She posts her slides as well as required and optional readings. For her abnormal class, she required a textbook, but for her other classes most of the time she will post readings. She doesn't take attendance but occasionally there are in-class assignments. I enjoyed this class because of the interesting subject matter, and overall Lewis is a great professor.

Lofgren, C. (PSCYH 112A, PSYCH112M)

She is an older professor so she often has trouble with computers and technology. Her lectures are very slow paced and tend to be irrelevant in regards to the exams. Her exams are very application based, so take the labs seriously and attend as much as possible. Overall, she is fairly condescending and rude to students. I suggest reaching out to your TA's before reaching out to her directly.

Lui, J.

(SOCSCI 10A - 10B - 10C)

I took professor Lui during online learning, I am currently in my second quarter with him and I enjoy his class and the atmosphere. This is a statistics class for students in the school of Social Sciences. I really enjoyed how he tackled our online learning by setting up a discord for the whole class to join. Discord has really helped because all the students and professor Lui answer any questions we have on either the homework, practice exams, or the actual exams. Instead of just emailing him we were able to message him directly through discord where he replied pretty fast! As someone who was not really good at statistics, his teaching style and demeanor made the class smooth and interesting. He would hold lectures every Tuesday and Thursday but they are not mandatory to attend because he would record them and post them the day of. We had a total of 4 exams every other week and then our final. We also had homework due every Tuesday. The practice exams that he gave were extremely helpful and aided me in understanding what would be on the actual exam. We were also able to use our notes on the exam which helped a lot too.

(SOC SCI 10A - 10B - 10C)

I am currently in my last quarter with Professor Lui and I definitely recommend taking him for your stats requirement. He really puts effort in to make sure we are understanding the lessons and is very relatable/approachable. We have 7 homework assignments, which are actually helpful for our exams. He also creates practice quizzes which has been a wonderful way to prepare and study. He has made statistics cohesive.

Martin, E.

(PSCI 11C)

Dr. Martin’s exams are very straightforward since they are typically from the study guides and the textbook. She is also really good at explaining any difficult concepts or topics because she does not speak fast while she discusses them. There are no daily assignments or projects in her class which helps make the class very manageable to keep up with.

(PSYCH 9C)

You can tell that she is very passionate about what she teaches about, which is something I admire a lot about Dr. Martin. I took Psych 9C with her, but I remember so much of what learned in her class because of how good she was at explaining each topic. I appreciate that her class was very interactive, and she always included interesting examples of experiments that were tested on patients and applied them to what she was teaching. I enjoyed being in her class, and I would recommend this professor to anyone looking to take this class as well!

Nicholas, A

(BIO 36 - Drugs and the Brain)

Professor Nicholas is super chill and teaches with drawings and visuals which makes the materials much easier to understand. She likes to interact with students and to answer questions to make sure that everyone understands. She is also very lenient when it comes to grading. She genuinely wants her students to do well and get good grades.

The professor is sooo much fun during lectures and she relates a lot of her own experiences to the class. Her lectures are easily digestible and she's definitely very accessible after class or if you go to her office hours! As far as I remember, he quizzes are not open notes but if you study the material and know the main concepts, you should be fine :)

Prof was good at explaining concepts in language that was easy to understand and didn't hesitate to explain a concept again if she felt like the class was lost. she goes through each lesson objective so if you take notes on those then the exams are really easy. no surprise questions on exams. accessible outside of class.

(BIO 93)

Dr. Nick is one of the most down-to-earth professor that I know. Her grading policy is very flexible and she is very enthusiastic in her lectures. In addition, during her office hours, she is very welcoming and super helpful. I got my letter of recommendation from her! She is the best!

Nieman, J (WRITING 39B, 39C)

I took instructor Nieman for two quarters my first year at UCI and my first quarter was on campus and the next quarter was virtual. For writing 39B we read The Exorcist which was super cool and made me want to engage with the book. He made his students feel included in discussions and feel like our voices were heard so he gave everyone a chance to speak in class. Since the class was pretty small we would take blind polls on questions about writing tactics and we would take the quizzes together as a class and then elaborate on it. We had a final paper and E-portfolio due for finals but each week we worked up to it so during week 10 we didn’t feel bombarded with work. In writing 39C, I took him virtually and he ran his class the same by having us work on a paragraph each week, turn it, and then he would give it back to us with what to revise. During online learning, he was easy to reach and replied quickly to emails. He held office hours every week and was open to meeting one on one to discuss any issues or concerns with the class. He is a super chill and easy to approach professor and I enjoy his style of teaching because he gives constructive feedback on the writing we turn in and actually takes the time to point out areas in your writing that you need improvement.

Pearl, L. (PSYCH 56L - Language Acquisition)

Assignments are easy and she holds a hw review session before the exams where she basically goes over questions anyone has posted on the discussion board and gives BIG HINTS of what the right answers are. really passionate about language development so her lectures weren't sleepers.

Peters, M. (PSYCH 9A)

Her canvas is very organized which helps because it tends to align well with her lectures. Her lectures are overall very productive and engaging so I recommend paying attention to them. Her quizzes and exams are all based on the textbook so I definitely recommend reading them and doing the supplementary quizzes to ensure you know how to respond to the type of questions she will ask. Overall, very kind and responsive.

Pizlo, Z. (PSCYH 143P)

Professor Pizlo is a caring person but his class was hard to get through sometimes. The lecture slides were not super organized and I got confused by them multiple times throughout the quarter. His lectures are also not recorded. However, if you go to class on a regular basis and ask him questions about what you need clarification on you will most likely end up with a good grade. I would recommend this class if you are not able to get your first-choice classes, as it is a solid option, but can be boring.

Pressman, S. (PSCI 184S)

She's very passionate about her work and it shows through her teaching. Without even noticing it, I've realized she's changed my perspective on life and its challenges. There is a lot of work involved in her class but she's very understanding and open to talking to all of her students about what can be done to help alleviate the stress. She's also just there to listen and talk to about anything that is going on in your life whether it's academic or personal.

Rinehart, J

(PSYCH 9B / PSCI 11B)

Professor Rhinehart is absolutely funny and you'll love going to her class. I took PSYCH 9B / PSCI 11B with her and it was definitely the best lower-div psych class I took. If you pay attention and take notes, you will pass the class with a B or higher. Everything she teaches in class is on the tests along with a few things from the textbook.

(PSCI 102C - Abnormal Psychology)

This was a fun class because Dr. Rinehart is a very engaging professor who is clearly knowledgeable and passionate about what she teaches. A cool part of this class was that for the quizzes, you practice "diagnosing" patients after reading about their symptoms / problems -- super cool if you're interested in being a psychologist!

(PSCI 164C - Addiction)

I have taken a total of three classes with Dr. Rinehart, including this one! For every single course, they have been super interesting and well-organized. Her lectures are very clear and informational, and she is always happy to help students succeed, whether it’s through office hours or extra credit opportunities. I highly recommend this course, as well as any other course taught by Dr. Rinehart, as she is a wonderful professor that is truly passionate about teaching.

Riis, J. (PSCI 103H - Health Psychology)

Dr. Riis was a great professor! Although health psychology does contain a lot of biology concepts, she was able to display the information in a way that was easily understood. Throughout the stress of the pandemic, she constantly considered the needs of her students and communicated deadlines and assignments making them hard to miss/forget. Her lectures were definitely heavy, and packed with a lot of information, but as long as you communicate with her and ask questions the material is easily understood.

Rouder, J. (PSYCH 10B)

Out of all my Psych 10 series statistics professors, I recommend Professor Rouder. He was a very easy-going professor. He is patience with his students and is willing to help you out when you don't understand the concept. He makes statistic fun and not difficult to understand. He shows the process step by step that it is easy for you to understand.

Saberi, K. (PSYCH 169)

Dr. Saberi is a really engaging professor. He keeps lectures clear and easy to understand and finds ways to make the concepts relatable to real life and fun. I'm not a fan of watching videos/documentaries during class time, but the short videos he shows during class are really helpful in visualizing information and are really engagement as well. Also all the topics, from artificial intelligence to the purpose of dreaming/sleep, are super interesting. He doesn't require any assignments; exams are fair and include some specific details, but as long as you study his lecture slides, you'll be fine. He's honestly one of my favorite professors, and I didn't mind waking up early to go to his class.

Sarnecka, B.

(PSYCH 120D)

The class I took with Professor Sarnecka was developmental psychology (PSYCH 120D). Her classes are very interactive, student oriented, and interesting. The material in her class builds off of what you would learn in general psychology, so going into her class you would already know the foundation in which the material is based from. Many of her examples come from personal experience, so that helps her students better understand the material because they're realistic examples. She has weekly readings, however they are very interesting and relate directly to the class and midterms. Along with the readings, Professor Sarnecka assigns three-four midterms in which your lowest grade is dropped and a research paper that is due at the end of the quarter (the earlier you turn it in, the more extra credit you receive).

(PSCYH 9B)

Her lectures were very interactive and genuinely enjoyable to listen to. Her quizzes were also very easy and based on the interactive textbook. There was no midterm or final; just about 5 spaced out quizzes. The quizzes were also online as well (with no Respondus lockdown)!

Simon, K. (PSCI 153C - Developmental Psychopathology)

As a new professor at UCI, Dr. Simon did not disappoint. I truly enjoyed every minute of her class, and she was always open to discussion on any topic. These topics included course material, and well as career questions I had. The career panel discussions she held helped me to get in touch with professionals in fields I was interested in, as well as help me to take note of what career options are available. Her lectures were long, but all the material being taught was important and interesting! As a child psychologist, she also was able to bring in a lot of case examples in lecture to help create a better understanding of the material.

Sng, W.

(PSCI 104S)

I love this class because of the topics we covered in class and Dr. Sng teaching style. I took him Winter 2020 in person. We cover topics such as relationships, self presentation, and social dilemmas. When lecturing he would provide real world examples and would check in with the class to ensure that we understood, which was really helpful! We had two non-cumulative exams and one cumulative final, of these three only two would count towards our final grade in the course.

(PSCI 104S)

Dr. Sng’s class was very entertaining since he would always get the class engaged by having them answer interesting questions that connect with his lectures. He explains every concept or definition very thoroughly and does not speak at a rapid pace. His exams were fairly easy which required some preparation of daily reading from the textbook and paying attention to the lectures.

Tomlinson, C. (SOC SCI 3A)

For those looking to fulfill a social science lab requirement, taking the Soci Sci 3A course with instructor Christine Tomlinson is a good solid choice. There will be short weekly readings/quizzes. There will also be weekly lab meetings, however you can submit your lab earlier so you do not need to attend. The lectures are clear and straightforward. For the class you learn how to use Microsoft Excel and navigate Reddit to complete assignments. As someone who is not familiar with these programs the professor is there to help and makes the instructions understandable and clear to follow. Also, the weekly quizzes are from lectures and readings, so take good notes. All in all, Professor Tomlinson has set up this course to allow one to succeed and if you stay up to date with everything you will do great.

William C, (WRITING 39B)

This professor is very understanding with Covid, and provides a lot of resources to his students, such as office hour appointments, only an email away. He also is very easy to communicate with and responds to any emails in a timely manner. Professor Chase is passionate about this class, and even takes the time to respond to every single student's discussion posts weekly.

Zalta, A. (PSCI 150C)

Clinical Psychology This was one of my favorite classes! I took it online during Spring 2020. Her class was very straightforward. The class was asynchronous and there were lecture videos online. There was two midterms and a final. Also, 6 weekly writing assignments, however, you only need to complete 4 so she drops the two lowest grades. She is friendly and you can tell that she cares about her students.

Zanotto, J. (SOCECOL 8)

I really liked Professor Zanotto’s class. I had her for an in-person class and while there were big projects, they were fun. The class was mainly about the environment, including big environmental crises that have affected us over the years, and how our individual actions have an impact on the environment. It was interesting to learn about because of how applicable it all is to our current, everyday lives. Her passion for the topic made the lectures interesting to listen to and really captured your attention. The exams were straightforward because she gives you a comprehensive study guide of questions that are actually relevant for the exam. She’s a great professor and I highly recommend her!

Zinger, J.

(PSYCH 9C / PSCI 11C)

- I highly recommend Dr. Zinger, because her classes are really well structured and organized for her students. You can tell that she is genuinely passionate about the topics she teaches, so her lectures are very engaging and fun to listen to.

- Although I haven’t taken many psych classes at UCI yet, Dr. Zinger was my first professor, and she is very caring, organized, and flexible. She is always on top of things with her easily navigable Canvas home page, detailed syllabus, weekly reminders, announcements, and list of assignments with deadlines, so you’ll never be confused about what’s going in on class. She makes content clear, giving examples from her own life as well as making things relatable to our own lives. One downside is that she does not allow quiz answers to be viewed after grading—you must instead attend discussion sections to learn about common mistakes on the quizzes. Her assessment questions can at times be a little picky, but most are straight from the book, often word-for-word. Overall, the class is fairly easy, and her policies can set you up to do well if you make use of them (especially the plentiful extra credit opportunities).

(PSCI 118D)

Professor Zinger is one of the best psychology professors I have taken throughout my time at UCI. While being very good at communicating with her students via email and Canvas, she also makes sure to keep up with Discord and is very responsive through her class servers as well. Though her exams and quizzes can be rather lengthy, it isn't hard to prepare for them as she tends to provide the class with organized study guides, allows open book/open note testing, and offers a variety of extra credit opportunities throughout the quarter. What makes Zinger's classes stand out amongst others is her never ending effort to keep her lectures entertaining (whether in-person or online). Through a variety of methods, such as polls, games, Q&A's, and personal experiences, she makes sure her students understand the class concepts well, all while maintaining a safe and supportive space for learning. Overall, I definitely recommend Zinger if you plan on taking Human Sexuality 118D in the future! :)

(PSYCH 173S)

I highly recommend taking a class with Dr. Zinger. You can tell she is very passionate about what she teaches and that she cares about her students. Her lectures are interesting as she always brings in personal examples to illustrate her points. The amount of work isn't overwhelming at all, but you definitely need to do the reading in order to do well on the tests and quizzes. She even offers so many different ways to get involved with the psychology community too and a bunch of different ways to earn extra credit.
