Alex Rowland - CLS Doctoral Student

This lab conducts qualitative research exploring the emergence and effects of prison policies that affect incarcerated transgender Californians. The work includes transcribing interviews, writing analytic memos, qualitative coding, and group based theoretical musing.

  • Research assistants are required to attend 2-3 one hour training sessions before starting but then are only required to attend one weekly one hour meeting (as needed).

  • Applicants are not required to come from any specific field but are ideally interested in any of the following topics: policy, prisons, punishment, queer studies, sex and gender, law.

Email Alex (atrowlan@uci.edu) your resume and a statement of interest, and she will follow-up about scheduling an interview.
