Internship | Mental Health & Wellbeing Intern (Center for Student Wellness and Health Promotion)

Details:

Provide programmatic and administrative support to the Center for Student Wellness and Health Promotion professional staff, particularly to the Programs Manager for Mental Health and Emotional Wellbeing. The Center for Student Wellness & Health Promotion (CSWHP) strives to be a leader in collegiate health promotion by focusing on the unique and relevant health needs and concerns of the UCI student body. We empower students to make informed decisions to support individual health and well-being by promoting education through our comprehensive programs. Our primary areas of focus are Alcohol & Other Drugs, Sexual & Relationship Health, Nutrition, Mental Health and Emotional Wellbeing.


Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Engage with students and campus community to raise awareness about CSWHP’s mission, vision and values

  • Promote CSWHP services and upcoming programs by presenting in front of classrooms and at campus events, participating in tabling and outreach events, and distributing marketing materials

  • Lead, facilitate, and participate in CSWHP programs such as workshops, tabling opportunities, resource fairs, and other campus events

  • Provide logistical support by setting up and breaking down tabling displays, carrying and organizing supplies at event location, and tracking attendance

  • Participate in planning meetings to provide student perspective/feedback on campus collaborations, new and ongoing initiatives, and promotional materials

  • Create, research, and maintain a yearlong project related to Mental Health Equity with the support of the Programs Manager for Mental Health and Emotional Wellbeing

  • Support CSWHP student staff as needed by providing back up coverage at front desk, maintaining the wellness room, organizing storage area and other misc. tasks

  • Assist other professional staff as needed

Requirements:

  • Interest, research or experience working in the field of mental health and emotional wellbeing

  • Highly organized with great attention to detail

  • Able to follow through with projects to completion and meet deadlines

  • Excellent oral and written communication skills

  • Work collaboratively with a team and as an individual
