Crisis Text Line is a free, 24/7 text line for individuals in crisis to contact and speak with a crisis counselor. As a volunteer crisis counselor, you will receive 30 hours of training to learn skills to help take people from a hot moment to a cool moment. Because of the extensive training, Crisis Text Line requires a volunteer time commitment of 200 hours within a year (about 4 hours a week). While this is a big overall time commitment, you will learn valuable skills if you are interested in counseling, therapy, or crisis management, and it looks great on your resume! Website
