The Orange County Probation Department offers interns an array of experiences that will enhance learning and prepare them for careers within the criminal justice field.
Interns are considered part of the Probation team and gain practical work experience that complements their academic studies. Students will be able to earn academic credit if desired. Interns primarily work with juvenile offenders in one of the County's Juvenile Institutions or Youth Reporting Centers.
Responsibilities may include:
Tutoring, recreational activities, social programs, situational counseling, mentoring, and assisting staff with other assignments that focus on juvenile offenders.
In addition, students may be placed with a deputy probation officer in a field assignment.
Requirements:
Must be 21 years of age or older
Must be a legal U.S. resident
Must posses a valid Social Security card and driver's license or California identification card
